OCR and RSA Text Processing training courses


OCR have taken the decision to stop holding examinations in Text Processing subjects and have not replaced the qualifications.

Employers are still asking for OCR and RSA qualifications and are likely to do so for many years to come. Because of this, we are continuing to run these courses and we are also offering examinations, providing equivalent qualifications.

OCR Level 1 equivalent

Courses at this level are suitable for people with little or no experience of working in an administration or secretarial environment. These courses are especially suitably for school/college levers.

Level 1 Award course
This is the equivalent of the old "RSA 1" qualification. To achieve the Award level you must pass the Text Production course and the Word Processing course.

OCR Level 2 equivalent

Courses at level 2 are suitable for people who have worked in an administration or secretarial role and who need to demonstate their knowledge by gaining a qualification.

It is not necessary to take a course at level 1 before taking a level 2 course.

Level 2 Award course
This is the equivalent of the old "RSA 2" qualification. To achieve the Award level you must pass the Text Production course and the Word Processing course.

OCR Level 3 equivalent

Courses at this level are suitable for people who either already hold level 2 qualifications or who have significant work experience in a secretarial role. This level of qualification is widely sought after by employers, especially the National Health Service.

Level 3 Award course
This is the equivalent of the old "RSA 3" qualification. To achieve the Award level you must pass the Text Production course and the Word Processing course.
